Almost everyday I am challenged as to why I believe what I believe. The majority of those I talk with believe that you can live in sin, and still be a Christian. Immediately out of their mouths they claim that we will always be sinnners. Most will also state that sin seperates us from God, but declare being they are a Christian, God does not look at us as unbelievers. Wow! Wouldn't that be nice :) We could have our cake and eat it too.
I want to share a part of Romans 11 with you all. Keep in mind that I did not write the scripture, I only read it and share it for what it says. The begining in Romans 11 shares a marvelous truth that God has, and always will keep a 'Remnant' for Himself. I wish people would forget about the word saved (Which is taken out of context in most cases), and desire to be remnants.
Romans 11:17-21:
"If some of the branches (Israel, His chosen people) have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, 'Branches were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either."
Unfortunately men shy away from reading the Word for what it says. It is obvious to me that Paul is warning those who have confessed Jesus as Savior, but then live in unbelief, they will be cut-off just as God's chosen people. God has no obligation to us, we have an obligation to Him. When we at first believed we were willing to do eveything that would please God. Our faith and belief was strong, but so was His chosen people, the Israelites. So if He did not spare them, He will in no means spare us.
This is grace my firends. For all who choose to read it for what it says, we will be grateful that He has provided us this opportunity to get in right standing with Him, and believe His word. For others, they would rather feel secure in what they believe and disregard the truth. How important is our eternal? When its all been said and done and we stand before Him, it will then be to late. Live as we believe each and everyday of our lives~

This is a scary truth, but I am glad to have taken the time to read the verses in Romans 11 and really think about what it is saying..If we are Christians, we cannot continue to live in sin. If we have known sin and do not get rid of it, then how are we Christians? We cannot live in darkness and light at the same time. So then we have to choose. If we choose the sin, then we should fully expect Him to not choose us to enter the gates of Heaven. I'm assuming if He says we can get rid of sin and be holy and righteous THROUGH Him, that it is possible to do so. But not easy. I have to keep asking myself with each sin that is made known in my life - "Is this worth my eternity?" If it was easy I guess there would be alot more than a remnant..We need to take this seriously though, what else could be more important?
